Summer came into Georgia’s care as a 7-month old puppy with a broken leg. Someone had likely thrown her out of a moving vehicle, as Animal Control found her in a ditch on the side of the road. The vet had initially planned to just amputate her leg, but Georgia asked for her to have some time to heal.
With some time and TLC, Summer made a full recovery and was able to keep her leg. Summer ended up being Georgia’s longest foster, staying in her care for just over a year. She grew into a gentle, adaptable dog, but always kept her playful streak from her puppy days.
Where is she now?
Summer was adopted in July 2026 by a couple in Seaside with another dog (Bubble) and a love for hiking. She now spends her days on trails and long walks with her new sibling, and is, by all reports, spoiled rotten.
